03 - Faction Information

The Arcane Alliance, founded by one of the first to escape a Midnight Sector cell, is a rebel group dedicated to unmasking the Midnight Sector, reveal their plans to the others in The Realm, and ultimately, escape and return to their own universes. They operate in semi-secrecy: many of the other denizens of Silencia know of a rebel group, but don't know what they're rebelling against, many assuming it's over trivial issues.

The Midnight Sector are the group that created and manage The Realm, for their greater purpose: a mysterious plan known only as OPERATION: HALCYON. The purpose of The Realm is to 'capture' the multiverse's greatest heroes and villains and recruit them for this plan. Whether they are kidnapped, captured or forced to join or joined voluntarily is no matter to the Sector, as long as they are on their side. Nobody other than the members of the Alliance are aware that the Midnight Sector exists and really rules over them, in order to maintain the secrecy of their plans. Anyone who discovers their base is either killed, memory wiped or recruited, ensuring nothing ever goes in or out.

Then, of course, there are the unaffiliated: either those that don't know about either or mercenaries, who will dart in and out of conflict for their own gain. These often work as 'flies on the wall' and conceal their identity for their own safety.
